Dry Valleys of Antartica
The Dry Valleys of Antarctica get almost no snowfall, and except for a few steep rocks they are the only continental part of Antarctica devoid of ice. The terrain looks like something not of this Earth; the valley floor occasionally contains a perennially frozen lake with ice several meters thick. Under the ice, in the extremely salty water live mysterious simple organisms, a subject of on-going research.
Some really amazing pictures. [Pictures]

Tenor Luciano Pavarotti dead at 71
I think I’m still a little shocked by the sudden death of Luciano Pavarotti.
Pavarotti was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year, and at 5 a.m. local time on Thursday September 6th he passed away in his Modena, Italy home. His manager, Terri Robson had this to say -
“The Maestro fought a long, tough battle against the pancreatic cancer which eventually took his life. In fitting with the approach that characterized his life and work, he remained positive until finally succumbing to the last stages of his illness,” the statement said.
Pavarotti was arguably the most famous opera singer in the world for the past 35 years.
Nicoletta Mantovani, Luciano’s second wife, survives him, as does his three daughters by his first wife Adua. Pavarotti also had a daughter with Mantovani in 2003 who survives him as well.

Dog Island

I was searching the net for products for Daisie and Chili and I came up to a website called Dog Island. Surfed inside it and it said that there is an island that you take you dog to have a better life.
I don't know if its safe for Daisie to go there because she is aggressive with other dogs and she likes it only when she is alone. The other thing why give your dog to an island and don't let it live a nice life with its food and a shelter.
What's your opinion?
Stealing Sweets Scandal
A sweet-toothed gang of Romanian burglars was caught after stealing candy from a baby.
They grabbed a handful of lollipops during a house raid in Italy and dumped them half-eaten nearby.
But police found and tested the lollipops and managed to match up vital DNA evidence contained in saliva.
Police in Alessandria identified the seven-man gang which were behind 78 robberies in the area in the last three months.
The lollies had been bought by their victims for their sweet toothed toddler, and were discarded after being half-eaten.
A police spokesman said: "Officers found the lollipops just a few yards away from the house they robbed."
That's weird!!!LooL

Japanese Arm Wrestling Game Breaks Arms and It Is Being Recalled

Game developer Atlus has decided to recall all of its 150 arm wrestling simulators from arcades across Japan. Despite only being out a month, Arm Spirit has broken three arms.
In the game, players lock hands with a fake arm and battle on screen characters such as a french maid, a drunken martial arts master, a chihuahua, and a professional wrestler. Atlus claims that "the machine isn't that strong" and "even women should be able to beat it." Hmmmm. Either this is one bad ass arcade machine or the Japanese need more calcium in their diet.Sunday, August 26, 2007
