Review: The Mummy 3

After anticipating for so long, the Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is finally on show in all the K-Cineplex Cinemas since this week. And to be proud of it, my cousins and I supported and watched the premier show on yesterday evening, with very high expectation after watched the preview.

Sorry to tell you it is the sickest movie among The Mummy series. Other than usual graphic effects, there was no creativity, no surprise, poor story line, lousy ending, extra-ordinary plot and cast, good fighters fight like a lame, and I've so many complaint about it. I would say this film director is totally spoiled the 'The Mummy' brand.

Basically the plot is talks about long time ago (I guess 1946), in the Far East, trouble seeking father and son duo Rick and Alex O'Connell (unnecessary character) unearth the mummy of the first Emperor of Qin, a shape shifting entity (too over the for it's flexibility) who was cursed by a wizard (too old yet the emperor & general still fall in love) centuries ago. And in the end, yes it doesn't has other answer, the good people won and got what they want, and the bad people died. Just like you shit in the toilet and finish your business daily.

New Kit for Anorthosis

As some know, Anorthosis has made a contract with Puma Greece to wear its outfits for the rest of the season.  It has its positive and negative parts!  Firstly, we are happy to see major companies trying to get into Anorthosis and generally in cypriot soccer.  Also they are giving nearly 1.000.000 Euros to Anorthosis for just wearing it! The bad side is that our old one is so nice!  Just white and plain.  But we have to wait and see!

New iPods are coming!

The new iPods will come on September 9, as expected. Apple has sent us an invitation to the event, which will happen at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco on September 9 at 10:00 a.m. Obviously, it's about the iPod. But if you look at it carefully, there may be other hints. Let the speculation begin:

• As you can see in the invitation they sent, it is worth noting that the aspect ratio is not widescreen, but the usual 4:3 screen common on all current iPods. Maybe they are trying to put our hopes for a widescreen iPod down?

• The iPod in the song cover seems elongated, although it may be an effect of the perspective.

• Still the same classic theme, so I'm not holding my breath for a massive HD-based iPod touch (damn you, Apple).

• Someone in Cupertino is watching too much Miami Vice and A Night at the Roxbury every night, because the color schemes and graphics are still from the '80s.

• That guy is wearing huge sport shoes. Maybe huge feet are required. Maybe the new iPods will have 7-plate 20GB Winchester drives and you will be able to sue them to work out your biceps at the gym.

• If you cross your eyes at some distance, you will see a secret message floating. It says: "Hey, John Mayer here. I will be at the Apple event, so please come to listen to my latest song called Let's Rock San Francisco. Thanks, John."

Knowing that Apple usually teases a bit when something really exciting is coming up, I have the sinking feeling that this is going to be a very boring event.

New Microsoft Vista Ad

On which planet does this advert make any sense? (Answer that and you could be in line for a $300 million contract....)

Maybe it's the first part of a series that culminates in a knockout advert for Windows 7 in 2010 -- possible, given its very leisurely pace. (At 90 seconds, it's clearly a net ad, not a TV ad.) But it obviously is part of a series, so I assume you're supposed to figure out what it means (if anything) and guess what's in the next one.

As a one-off, it will probably go viral*, so millions of people will see it at no cost to Microsoft. But that's only half the job, unless there's a decent "payload" in the end. And so far, that's nowhere in sight....

Review: Google Chrome

Google Chrome is light, plain and clear.  It's a type of browser that any person would use.  It doesn't differ with FF so much but it hasn't got a bar(FILE-EDIT etc.) It has a Bookmark Bar like Safari where you can rename and customize anything on it!
The install was easy, didn't have to do much, but there was a long terms page(but I didn't read it!)

Until now, all my current websites come up fine. Gmail made me jump, because of how much quicker it loaded, than Firefox and Safari. The Import Tool brought all my bookmarks and history from FireFox, so I don't miss anything!When first running the Google Chrome, a pop-up came and asked me to choose what search engine I would like to have as a default! I was a bit confused because Google has many enemies, but again, it wasn't a selfish move, letting people decide!

The homepage is basically a history of your popular pages that you visit as well as new bookmarks and searches etc.  But I hope they add features to iGoogle exclusively for Chrome( that I believe would attract more users!

You can change many things in Options, like the default homepage behavior and even if you would like to have the Home button.  I set mine up so my homepage would be iGoogle, but a new tab will open their fancy interface with most viewed pages and etc.
The built in Spell Check is pretty good.  Also the CTR L F works fine, like that it highlights all items on page, then moves through them.It still hasn't wowed me so I am waiting for the original version to come out!  Hope to see more features and unique ones too!

Cinema Releases in Cyprus for September

On Friday the 12th we have 3 new moviews hitting the circuit.
Firstly the Romantic Comedy called Wedding Daze about marriage and finding the right person to spend you life with, starring Jason Biggs, Isla Fisher, Michael and Chris Diamantopoulos and directed by Michael Ian Black.

We also have the release of the sequel of Hellboy called The Golden Army and starring Ron Perlman, Selma Blair and Seth MacFarlne.  Aswell as the long awaited release of the action comedy starring Adam Sandler, Don't Mess with the Zohan, about a Mossad agent Zohan Dvir, who fakes his death so he can reemerge in New York City as a hair specialist.

The following Friday (the 19th) another two movies join the circuit.
Both movies star wold famous actors and actresses. The first being the sci-fi flick, Hancock, about a hard-living superhero who has failed out of favor with the public enters into a questionable relationship with the wife of the public relations professional who's trying yo repair his image. Acting in it are Will Smith, Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman.

And the second being the comedy about a disk contaning the memoirs of a CIA agent that ends up in the hands of two unscrupulous gym employees, who attempt to sell it.  Burn After Reading stars Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Tilda Swinton.

The last Friday of September (the 26th) brings us another two movies.
Ben Stiller directs the action comedy that portrays the story of a group of actors who, while shooting a big-budget war movie, are forced to become the soldiers they are starring as after a series of freak occurrences.  In Tropic Thunder, the movie they think they're making.... isn't a movie anymore.  It stars Jeff Khan, Robert Downey Jr., Anthony Ruivivar, Jack Black and the director himself.

The last movie to hit our silver screens is the romantic comedy about an angered ex-boyfriend eho was dumped after his girlfriend took advice from a radio show.  The Accidental Husband deals with his revenge and stays Uma Thurman, Colin Firth and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.  [link]
